CCAPS Program Manager Ashley Moran will present the program's mapping tool at
Esri's International User Conference in San Diego, CA.
On Tuesday, July 24 from 3:15 to 4:30pm, Ashley Moran will present the CCAPS mapping tool during a panel on "Geo-Enabling International Development." International Development is an enormously complex and global "business" that is affected by economic, financial, social, environmental, and other global issues such as climate change. At its center, geography is the link that allows for the synthesis of all of these data into useful, actionable information. Ashley Moran will discuss practical experiences with integrating natural and social science datasets in ArcGIS. She will focus on how geospatial tools can be used by policymakers, with a particular focus on how the CCAPS program has used GIS to assess the intersection of climate change impacts and potential interventions.
Ashley Moran will present the mapping tool and aid tracking tool during a session on "Mapping AId Flows" from 11 to 11:30am on Thursday, July 26. In this session, Riccardo de Marchi Trevisan, Partnerships Manager at Development Gateway and Ashley Moran will discuss the benefits of geo-enabling aid information. They will address some of the challenges unique to this field, and ways they can be addressed through technology tools and new methods.
